Application Not installed in your phone

When we are running Android application, some times we are getting error like "Application Not installed in your phone" right ?

Details of error -

I run the application in the emulator it works successfully and the icon of the application is show in the emulator menu but when i try to run again that app from the emulator menu it can't allow me to run from that and display the Toast "Application is Not installed in your phone".

Solution -

This can happen if you have your MainActivity declared twice in your AndroidManifest.xml,
first as a launhcer

<activity android:name=".MyActivity" android:label="@string/app_name">
                <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
                <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
and then just declared like:

<activity android:name=".MyActivity" />
So check for this and delete the second extra declaration.

Developers From India Can Now Sell Paid Apps In The Play Store

Good News to Indian Developer.....

Bad news again, India name removed from the list

Following the addition of a number of countries way back in April, Google has updated the Google Play for Developers site to indicate that developers in India can now sell apps on the Play Store. Obviously, this is a big deal. Not only because India is the second-most populous nation on earth, but because mobile technology and software development have absolutely exploded there. Android is absolutely dominating the country thanks to budget handsets.

My eclipse ADB server didn't ACK, failed to start daemon

After updating the SDK, my eclipse shows this error:
ADB server didn't ACK, failed to start daemon.
When I run an android application, it gives me the following:
Please ensure that adb is correctly located at 'D:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools\adb.exe' and can be executed.

This error is general for all developer, there are few fix for this -

Step 1: CTRL+Shift+Esc to open the task manager, which has adb.exe process and end (kill) that process
Step 2: Now, close the eclipse, which is currently running on my computer.
Step 3: Again, restart eclipse then solved that problem.

B. Some times i made same problem like
I met same problem, though I didn't what caused this. Whatever, i find some clues and fixed finally.
When I open SDK and AVD manager, but find the AVD version(2.3.3) is not same with android lib version(2.3). So I create a new AVD with 2.3.
I fixed it by the following steps:
1. Open windows task manger and kill adb.exe process.
2. Close eclipse and restart it. Then it works.

C. ADB will often fail if there is a newline in adb_usb.ini, remove it and restart it and that will often solve the problem (at least for me anyways)

D. i have solve my question,1 :open eclise open the SDK Manager ,choice i device to open
or you can open the sdk dir open the SDK Manager then choice i device to open 2: close the eclipse, then open it

E. type ./adb nodaemon server in terminal
if it returns Invalid content in adb_usb.ini. then there is a problem with your adb_usb.ini file in .android folder..open adb_usb.ini and erase its contents. then restart server...it worked for me.

You don't need to restart Eclipse to get ADB running again. Just open a shell and run the command:
adb start-server
If you haven't set the path to ADB in your system properties then you must first go to the directory in which ADB exists(in Android\android-sdk\platform-tools....I'm running Windows,

G.  Some time
Same problem with me. But no process of adb in my laptop, I just logout and login my account, and it's resolved... ADB could start from CMD windows after that.

I hope you will enjoy with this post.

Google Cloud Messaging (GCM)

Google Cloud Messaging (GCM)

GCM Application

Google Cloud Messaging for Android (GCM) is a service that helps developers send data from servers to their Android applications on Android devices. The service provides a simple, lightweight mechanism that servers can use to tell mobile applications to contact the server directly, to fetch updated application or user data. The GCM service handles all aspects of queuing of messages and delivery to the target Android application running on the target device.
The Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) is to use the Google Cloud Messaging framework in your Android application. You will get configuration and setting up GCM in Android.

DCM consists of two part –
1.       A web server containing a page where you can send messages
2.       An Android application that receives and displays such messages.

Details information about API reference documentation  are available here –

What is design pattern ? What are good design patter in Android ?

What is design pattern?  What is design pattern in Android?

In software engineering, a design pattern is a general reusable solution to a commonly occurring problem within a given context in software design. A design pattern is not a finished design that can be transformed directly into code. It is a description or template for how to solve a problem that can be used in many different situations. So patterns are formalized best practices that you must implement yourself in your application

What is the difference between minSdkVersion, maxSdkVersion and targetSdkVersion

  • android:minSdkVersion — Specifies the minimum API Level on which the application is able to run. The default value is "1".
  • android:targetSdkVersion — Specifies the API Level on which the application is designed to run. In some cases, this allows the application to use manifest elements or behaviors defined in the target API Level, rather than being restricted to using only those defined for the minimum API Level.
  • android:maxSdkVersion — Specifies the maximum API Level on which the application is able to run.Important: Please read the <uses-sdk> documentation before using this attribute.

<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="integer"

Preventing status bar expansion - Disable Notification Bar

Use your phone for just about any length of time, and you'll notice that little icons pop up and sit on the top-most gray bar on your phone. This is known as the Notification Bar, though it's sometimes referred to as the "Status Bar" or "System Status Bar" in Android developer documents

Here, we will see, whether we can play with this status bar or not.
Is there anyway to prevent users from sliding the status bar (expand) or collapsing back?
I'm trying out a lockscreen replacement and seems like it's a must-have feature. Is there any possible way to do it without requiring root privileges?

Answer is Yes, it possible in some how. -

Session Management in Android

Wanted to maintain Session, i.e. Session Management in Android.

This has nothing to do with Android. It has everything to do with Apache HttpClient, the library you are using for HTTP access.
Session cookies are stored in your DefaultHttpClient object. Instead of creating a newDefaultHttpClient for every request, hold onto it and reuse it, and your session cookies will be maintained.
Generally, in Java HttpURLConnection you can set / get a cookie this way (here is the whole connection process). The code below is in my ConnectingThread's run(), from which all the connecting activity classes inherit. All share common static sCookie string which is sent with all the requests. Therefore you can maintain a common state like being logged on / off:

Gesture and Gesture detection in Android

Here I will show you how to control Robot through the Gesture Movement, basically here I'm getting the gesture movement, left right, up, down, based on this value (X and Y direction), I'm passing this value to Controller through mobile bluetooth and based on this command Robot will move left, right, fwd, back.

Gesture detection is one of the great features of all touch based mobile devices. Gestures are patterns drawn by the user on the screen. Simple gestures include tap, scroll, swipe, etc. Complex gestures are more complex patterns drawn on the screen. In Android we can detect simple gestures using GestureDetector class and complex gestures using GestureOverlayView class.

14 Ways To Be A Great Startup CEO

Everyone thinks that being a startup CEO is a glamorous job or one that has to be a ton of fun. That's what I now refer to as the "glamour brain" speaking aka the startup life you hear about from the press. You know the press articles I'm talking about... the ones that talk about how easy it is to raise money, how many users the company is getting, and how great it is to be CEO. Very rarely do you hear about what a bitch it is to be CEO and how it's not for every founder that wants to be an entrepreneur. I've spent a lot of time recently thinking about what it takes to be a great Startup CEO that is also a founder. Here are some of the traits I've found.

Google Map in Android

<strong>Introduction -</strong>
Google Maps is one of the many applications bundled with the Android platform. In addition to simply using the Maps application, you can also embed it into your own applications and make it do some very cool things.

<strong>Objective - </strong>
Change the views of Google Maps
Obtain the latitude and longitude of locations in Google Maps
Perform geocoding and reverse geocoding
Add markers to Google Maps

<strong>Common Issue</strong>
API key is incorrect (http://code.google.com/android/add-ons/google-apis/mapkey.html)
You are using the standard Android emulator and not the Google APIs.
You have extended Activity instead of MapActivity
